nova lounge formed in laguna beach, ca in early 1998 and adopted san francisco as a permanent home in late 1999.

founding member jp has been creating original music and spinning in locales ranging from la to london to sf. his past projects have included 'this side down' out of the UK, and 'psychic espionage' in LA in the early 90's.  other projects include the founding of independent label trancewave music group, the dark electronic sounds of 'collapse', as well as collaboration on several independent film scores on the festival circuit, and with other sf musicians on a variety of records.

as with many artists in the 'electronic' genres, the styles of nova lounge wander across stylistic boundaries to include elements of trance, big beat, breaks, 'electronica', drum&bass, ambient, dub, electro and downtempo.

nova lounge released the full length cd 'in the land of the large' and the follow-up four song ep 'karmageddon' in 1999.

the crew released 'Outside' in late 2002, and is hard at work on the next record, as yet untitled.

tracks by nova lounge have been repeatedly featured on shows like MTV's real world, road rules, battle of the sexes, making the band, VH1's born to diva, and many others..
